Tteokbokki Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack (1lb) of cylinder shaped white tteok (Korean rice cakes)
  • 2 cups water
  • ⅓ cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean hot pepper flakes)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • Fish cakes (optional, but yum)
  • Green onions, sesame seeds (for garnish)

Steps:

  1. Soak rice cakes in warm water for 10 minutes if they’re frozen.
  2. In a pan, mix water, gochujang, sugar, soy sauce, and garlic. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add rice cakes and simmer until the sauce thickens (about 10 minutes).
  4. Toss in fish cakes, stir, and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
  5. Grab your chopsticks and get messy!
